"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequeces of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of it's powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the state."

The John Pelphrey press conference wasn't only a joke--It was a desperate ploy.

After John Pelphrey's press conference yesterday, it should be obvious to everyone that Jeff Long and the media of this state are still refusing to correctly appraise the current situation as it really is. They are living in denial.

They believe, incorrectly mind you, that by turning up their rhetoric, they can drive the disgruntled masses away....

This isn't a new tactic of theirs. We've all seen it before. Say the last three years...

Pelphrey is taking heat again. So they put together a rah-rah press conference and parade Pelphrey's golden boy out before the masses to make a passionate plea for his coach.

Pelphrey talks about the color red and the hog emblem. He speaks at length about overachieving and where he wants the program to go. He reminds everyone he's a tireless worker and will not rest until he succeeds. He speaks of the color of his blood and what Arkansas means to him.

What a joke!

Yesterday's press conference was nothing more than a ploy put together meant to coincide with Pelphrey's show last night, and the game on Wednesday in which the Razorbacks go for two straight victories. The desire is to take advantage of this lull in the schedule to rally support for Pelphrey. It won't be enough though, because John Pelphrey and the Razorbacks will once again finish the season on a terrible losing streak.

Hey John, go cry your river somewhere else. We've all seen the dog and pony show, and we don't want to see anymore of it.

More on this latter tonight.
